Richard Umbers

Richard is an experienced CEO and Board member, across the Retail and Logistics sectors, with particular expertise in eCommerce, digital and in leading major change initiatives.

He was until recently based in Germany as a senior executive in supermarket retailer Kaufland's International division, and prior to that held the role of CEO and MD at Australian department store chain Myer.

Richard was previously the CEO of international express logistics provider StarTrack and the Executive GM for Parcel and Express Services at Australia Post. 

He previously also held other MD and GM positions in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) retailing with roles at Woolworths both in Australia and New Zealand, and at Aldi in the UK and Republic of Ireland.  

Richard has a Masters degree in Finance from Leicester University (UK), and a Bachelors degree in Geology and Geography from  Exeter University (UK).

Richard is married, with three adult children and lives in Melbourne.

Carolyn’s work within Braintree a PayPal Service, eBay, Vodafone, and Telstra has seen her sharpen her sales, marketing, and leadership expertise, as well as her knowledge in conversion, payments, and digital transformation.

Her astute leadership and professionalism have resulted in Carolyn being awarded one of CEO Magazine’s IT and Telecommunications Executives of the Year in 2018, recognised as one of Business Insider's top 20 Women in Fintech and receiving the prestigious 'Advocate for Woman' award at the 2019 Woman in Payments symposium.

James is a well-known and well-connected entrepreneur in the Australian marketplace. Respected for his outstanding ability to grow and manage companies from seed to capitalisation, James has unique skillsets and knowledge gained over the last 25 years of his business career. James has managed and commercialised businesses from Motorsport, finance and e-commerce at both a national and international level. His in-depth and practical ‘hands-on’ approach
and knowledge of business has propelled James through his career as a successful entrepreneur.

He founded Nutricare Pty Ltd in 2016. As an Australian natural health innovator, James has developed advanced solutions to common health and personal care items on the market. Created with the most premium, sustainable ingredients available, these products aim to empower consumers with choices that will make a significant difference to their everyday lives and the world we live in.

Cheyenne Kermond

Cheyenne has more than 10 years’ experience in healthcare. She began her career as a nurse. Her subsequent endeavours have spanned the medical device, pharmaceutical, and recruitment sectors.

As a nurse, Cheyenne was drawn to the Frontliners mission to give back to health care professionals on the frontline. She understands the pressures healthcare workers face, and how a gesture of gratitude can serve to lift their spirits and affirm the important work they do.

Outside of work, Cheyenne enjoys travelling, cooking, discovering new wines and listening to podcasts.

Rohan Lock

Regional Director, APAC, dotdigital

Rohan has more than 14 years’ experience helping ecommerce brands optimise their digital marketing. After heading up dotdigital sales and account management and subsequently as group sales director based in the UK, Rohan, a dotdigital veteran, has established the brand’s presence in Asia-Pacific (APAC). As dotdigital’s regional director for APAC, Rohan works with local integration and agency partners, as well as key global relationships and integrations, including Magento, Shopify, Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics, to bring dotdigital’s technology offering to local organisations. With offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore, dotdigital was the winner of the Best Marketing Automation category at the 2019 NORA Solution Partner Excellence Awards.

Monica Rosenfeld has been running her PR agency WordStorm PR since 2000. Prior to this she worked as a producer for Channel Nine’s ‘A Current Affair’ where she learned how NOT to do PR. Monica is passionate about educating businesses how to use the media’s thirst for content to their advantage. She has worked with hundreds of retail businesses including Sumo Salad, Hairhouse Warehouse, Dilmah Tea, Lindt, Modibodi and Cashrewards to name just a few. Monica increases their credibility, trust and bottom line by putting their brand in the media spotlight.Monica delivers keynote presentations and workshops to a wide range of business groups both in Australia and abroad. Her goal is to get businesses looking at the media through opportunistic eyes, rather than just passively.

Phil Leahy

Founder & CEO frontliners

Phil has a deep passion for creating connections. This lead him to establish an events company. The company runs two annual retail conferences aimed at maximising the performance of small and large businesses. The company also hold smaller, bespoke events. The conferences take place in Australia and the United States. Hosting conferences allows Phil to bring creative minds together to exchange ideas. As CEO of Retail Global, a part of his day is spent finding and recruiting compelling speakers, and meeting with business leaders. He enjoy discovering people who are able to convey critical information in new ways in order to inspire others. Phil works with a small team of incredibly dedicated professionals. He believe in living with purpose, and that greatness comes from going against the grain.

You’ll often find him playing lawn bowls and spending time on yoga mat.
